Job Description You’ll have an important part to play as Storage Manager, supporting the delivery of Unipart Logistics Storage Principles targeting Quality, Cost and Delivery improvements working in collaboration with operational, commercial and client key stakeholders across the business. Storage Manager Responsibilities include: Ensuring UL and client longevity space forecasts are under control and met with any potential space and storage risks being identified and escalated to key stakeholders accordingly.Attending and contributing towards Space Planning and Storage strategy meetings, identifying both efficiency and productivity improvements and short or long term solutions to any potential Storage or Space risks.Collaborating with key stakeholders, creating project proposals on Storage and Space solutions and oversee any approved projects from planning through to delivery, recording results and benefits of projects. Ensuring key stakeholder departments deliver their agreed actions in full.Liaising closely with key stakeholder departments (Operations, Transport, Finance, Solutions design, Facilities Maintenance and Client/Supplier teams etc) ensuring the project is coordinated, on plan to deliver desired goals, targets and budget and has necessary support from required departments with any key risks escalated to the business.Auditing current state with the Operational teams to identify conformance against the UL Storage Principles and develop and implement performance improvement plans working with key stakeholders.Maintaining and improving storage and space strategies, which will enable UL to deliver client requirements in line with business growth.Driving a Health and Safety culture within Unipart and responsible for compliance with relevant regulations and environmental and quality standards within the team and their working environment.Driving and supporting an Innovation culture, through digital technology and 4th Industrial Revolution solutions Storage Manager Requirements: We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this role! Able to interact at senior level with a high degree of gravitas, impact & credibilityEffective cross process working in a collaborative environment. Able to build and develop relationships across all levels and functions and have experience of working with customers / stakeholders at a strategic levelBroad business understandingExperience of stock and space management across multiple contractsProven track record of delivering business improvement through the application of stock and space planning best practiceLean logistics and the development of lean thinking through the businessExtensive knowledge of integrated supply chain systems (warehouse management, inventory management, space and storage planning)Knowledge of the procurement process. Able to translate commercial metrics into operational models for planning and forecastingExtensive knowledge and experience of managing storage strategy and design across ERP systems (Including SAP)Strong analytical skills. Including handling large datasets with appropriate software (eg advanced MS Excel and Access)Strong project management skills. Proven ability in implementing storage change projectsExperience supporting business cases and developing operational cost models for storage projectsConfident communicator at all levelsAble to present and communicate clearly analysis of complex problems to senior management team and recommendations on the best solutionAbility to work under pressure in a challenging and constantly changing environmentUnderstanding and experience of the 6Sigma approach and methodology. Green belt desirableEducated to ‘A’ Level or equivalent qualification/experience Location: Broughton, Cheshire Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full Time, 40 per week Monday to Friday Salary: £42,000 per annum Benefits: car allowance, 30 days holiday, pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits scheme.
