Within the Branch Applications Lab, we seek to re-imagine the future of the branch as a place where customers come for help and guidance with their needs, where they can choose when and how they are seen, and to enable our colleagues to build trust and deepen relationships. What will I focus on: What follows is a selection of what you might find yourself doing on an average day in the lab, but your experience will depend on the team's needs as well as your own aspirations. Our goal is to help you develop in a way that fulfils you and create an environment where you can do what you enjoy. Closely monitoring our services by developing and using innovative tooling (for example Dynatrace and Splunk), providing technical expertise to help diagnose and resolve incidents, and spotting risks to live service. Identifying and driving service improvements to help us provide an even better service to our customers. Leading resolution of live incidents and facilitating problem reviews to ensure root cause is identified and documented, with tasks tracked through to resolution. Work with software engineers to set direction and influence the reliability of services before they launch, through activities such as service design consultancy. What are we looking for: We believe that people don't fit accurately into roles, and we value everyone's individual skills, experience, and knowledge. These are some of the skills we're looking for: A passion for service engineering, ensuring our customers receive the most reliable service possible. Collaborating with engineers from on and offshore teams, working across different platforms and technologies. Strong problem-solving skills, leading live support and incident management as and when needed. Experience of developing and using monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace and ServiceNow. Experience using Devops toolsets such as Jenkins, Github, UrbanCode, InTune, Docker and Kubernetes within a cloud environment such as AWS, GCP or Azure. It would be great if you had: Setting and prioritising a service balanced backlog within the lab, driving post incident improvements. Leading application portfolio management to ensure our configuration, risk and currency management plans are in place and take appropriate priority. Influencing multiple product teams backlogs so that our application landscape is modernised and automated through exploiting new technologies. Strong technical skills based around technologies like IBM Websphere, Oracle, .NET, SQL Server, Java. Scripting using bash, shell, python, Powershell.
