The opportunityWe are looking for a senior chemical engineering project manager to join our Pharmaceutical & Technology sector who is enthusiastic about working on projects that are critical to our clients business. Join us and youll have the chance to work on exciting projects where you will manage and lead project teams, ensuring that process and technology appointments are compliant with the project requirements and objectives.A hybrid role, encompassing engineering and project management, you will be instrumental in the planning, scheduling and management of process and technology projects from early design through to commissioning and construction. You must possess the capabilities required for all project managers, including excellent organisation, leadership and communication skills.Project: You will be working alongside pharmaceutical and life sciences clients, working as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering multiple projects from inception to completion. Youll be helping our clients innovate and grow by managing the design and engineering. Youll be executing the commissioning, construction and procurement of their advanced manufacturing facilities that are changing our world.Your responsibilities will include:Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with the client, main contractor and stakeholder.Creating clear and attainable project objectives and developing/ managing project requirements.Providing strategic support to the client and assisting in the management of technical reviews and design approvals, managing technical issues as they arise.Arranging acceptance and sign-off of design briefs.Coordinating, planning and managing internal and external meetings about the project.Managing change in an efficient manner and in accordance client governance process.Defining and managing the constraints of cost, time, scope and schedule whilst ensuring teams are adequately resourced.Establishing and implementing project procedures and processes with the client, project team organisation, reporting systems etc.Contributing to risk management and working with the project team to identify, schedule, and establish mitigation strategies for project risks.Inputting safety procedures into the design development process.Preparing the project quality plan and ensuring quality is integral to the development process.Developing and managing the procurement strategy.About youYou have a degree qualification in chemical engineering, are a member of the IChemE and , working towards chartered chemical engineer status. You have experience as the project lead on a pharmaceutical design and build bio-pharmaceutical project is desirable but other industries will be considered. You have a passion for innovation and problem solving and are able to prepare and deliver presentations to clients, users, funders, designers and trade contractors. You have worked on engineering projects previously in a decision-making/leadership capacity and have delivered projects as the project lead, this can be either in the client PM role, construction or commissioning role.You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and work well as part of a team. You have experience delivering projects from start through to completion within a consultancy environment or public sector and be poised to expand your own horizons, those of our clients and of our ambitious people alike.
