Liaison with the external auditors which includes preparation of deliverables by due deadline to a high-quality standard and responding to their queries promptly and accurately. Managing the international branch accounting team and overseeing monthly and annual compliance responsibilities (such as PAYE, VAT, WHT, corporation tax returns and financial accounts); includes liaison with international advisors. Maintain and report on the register of balance sheet reconciliations assisting relevant departments to finalise and clear reconciling items in a timely fashion. As part of the team responsible for controlling and reviewing the UK balance sheet, undertake process improvements to facilitate a more efficient month end process. To carry out a variety of financial duties associated with the month end preparation and submission of the UK balance sheet. Assisting with preparation of regional reports to stakeholders and investigating variances to budgets and forecasts. Assist with technical accounting queries raised by the businesses in an accurate, prompt and commercial fashion. Identification of areas for improvement in efficiency and for accounting procedures; take responsibility for implementation.
