Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead, inspire, mentor and coach the agile delivery teams to ensure regular successful delivery of world-class software solutions and deliver on our ambition to redefine the way organizations are governed.

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager you will be end-to-end responsible for Questionnaires, Minutes and Workflow product development. You will lead an international development organization (UK, Hungary, India). You will lead the team trough organizational changes and will be responsible for the successful cloud migration journey of the product owned by your teams.

You will work closely together with your Product Management and UX peers to ensure that your teams develop the best possible solutions for our customers. You will be responsible for capacity planning and roadmap execution.

You will guide your teams in the Agile Software Delivery Processes and will make sure that your teams are following the processes while relentlessly looking for improvements and learning opportunities.  

You must have strong technical background, hands-on experience in different disciplines and be a great communicator. As an Engineering Manager, you will be the driving force to ensure that your teams are working together towards the strategic goals and the dependencies are tracked and handled properly. Key Responsibilities

  • Build a motivated high performing team. Manage 3rd party development teams working on the product in your responsibility area.
  • Mentor and coach the member of your teams, and support them to reach their full potential.
  • Drive a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation and excellence, whilst actively promote Diligent valuesand have fun
  • Be the point of escalation for any issues related to the timely delivery of software products
  • Ensure that delivery priorities reflect those agreed with the business
  • Responsible for the management and escalation of risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies
  • Be the point of escalation for product maintenance issues. Facilitate/drive the investigation of critical maintenance issues.
  • Effectively communicate delivery status to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure that the team members operate in line with agreed ways of working
  • Facilitates effective intra and inter-team communication and knowledge sharing
  • Implement a consistent estimation process across all teams supported by an empirical feedback and refinement process
  • Strong leadership skills as well as excellent knowledge in most of technical capabilities related to the area.
  • Manage a team of engineers developing highly scalable, performant, easily maintainable & well-tested SaaS features.
  • Evaluate engineering requirements and design proposals in a technical capacity, in collaboration with Product Managemen
  • Be in touch with the latest frameworks in the industry and be influential in all choices related to Diligent’s SaaS application stack.
  • Ensuring Development teams are working in sync with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering teams
  • Mentor and coach your teams how to approach complex technical problems

Required Experiences/Skills

  • Degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar discipline
  • 10 years+ of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in leadership or management
  • Strong technical background in software development 
  • Full-stack engineer with a proven track record of building and supporting SaaS based commercial products
  • Experience in people management, mentoring and coaching
  • Ability to enable autonomous teams
  • Experience with QA processes and test automation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Resourceful and fast learner of new technologies and methods 
  • Proven track record of delivering changes to large/complex products
  • Experience with and deep understanding of DevOps practices
  • Solid understanding of Agile development practices
  • Be passionate about technology, be eager to build something great
  • Be passionate about building a high performing organization
  • Be passionate about delivering value to our customers
  • Experience in development and delivering commercial SaaS applications
  • Experience and solid understanding of AWS services
  • Experience in migrating on-premise applications to AWS (or other cloud providers), Terraform is a plus
  • You are fluent in English and you are not afraid of working in an agile environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of working in regulated environments such as SOX, ISO, etc. will be a plus.
