Aquatics Complex & Pool Cleaner
Location: Bald Head Island Club, Bald Head Island, NC
Job Type: Part-Time (25-30 hours per week)
About the Position
The Bald Head Island Club is seeking a dedicated Aquatics Complex & Pool Cleaner to maintain our four pools and surrounding pool decks, ensuring a clean, safe, and enjoyable experience for our members. This role is essential to the upkeep of our aquatic facilities and requires a hands-on approach to pool maintenance, equipment checks, and general upkeep of the complex.
As part of your responsibilities, you will perform tasks such as vacuuming, skimming, chemical balancing, and pressure washing, along with minor repairs like fixing umbrellas. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team. Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or GED
- Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
(preferred but not required)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness and safety standards.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work efficiently in an outdoor environment.
Schedule & Compensation
- Hourly Pay:
$15-$18 (based on experience)
- Workdays:
Monday – Friday (Weekends optional)
- Hours:
6:00 AM – 12:00 PM (5:30 AM contractor boat – 12:45 PM passenger boat)
- No nights required.

Responsibilities
- Pool Maintenance:
Vacuuming, skimming, brushing pool surfaces, and scrubbing tiles
- Chemical Balancing:
Monitoring and maintaining proper water chemistry levels
- Equipment Upkeep:
Checking and maintaining salt systems, chlorine generators, and skimmer baskets.
- Deck & Facility Care: Pressure washing, hosing down decks, cleaning chairs, removing trash, and repairing umbrellas.
- Reporting & Communication: Promptly reporting issues, maintenance needs, and concerns to management.
- Time Management:
Working autonomously and efficiently to ensure all tasks are completed daily.
- Physical Stamina:
Ability to work in varying outdoor temperatures for extended periods.
