Join Our Team as a Part-Time School Custodian at Rocketship Nashville Northeast!
Rocketship Nashville Northeast is seeking a dedicated part-time School Custodian to join our team for after-school and end-of-day cleaning procedures. If you have previous custodial experience, we’d love to hear from you! In this role, you’ll work independently to ensure our school remains clean and welcoming. Your responsibilities will include removing all trash from the building to designated dumpster areas, vacuuming rugs, sanitizing surfaces, and more—all as directed by our Campus Facilities Custodial Manager.

Scheduled work hours: 4:00pm-9:00pm, Monday - Friday
Location: Rocketship Nashville Northeast - 2526 Dickerson Pike, Nashville TN 37207
Responsibilities
- Floor maintenance (mopping and sweeping)
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Refill dispensers daily (toilet paper, soap, etc.) and test to ensure the soap is dispensed.
- Install/repair paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers.
- Building sterilization
- Clean and supply including but not limited to the staff room, front office, lunch, and other designated areas.
- Gather and empty all trash cans (rinse or wash as needed).
- Report campus vandalism to Business Operations Manager.
- Power wash entrance, walkways, common areas & trash enclosures.
- Remove all marks from the walls.
- Wash all desktops, chairs, and furniture according to schedule.
- Wash all windows inside and out including screens.
- Lock all doors as directed by the director of facilities/administration or his/her designee and set an alarm system.
- Keep janitorial closet shelves and supplies in neat order and stocked at all times.
- Support with setting up and break down of events (as needed)
- Assist the Campus Facilities Custodial Manager & Business Operations Manager as needed
- Will be responsible for deep cleaning 4 times a year.
Requirements
- Commitment to Rocketship's mission, vision, and goals
- Passion for working with children
- Previous experience managing and/or teaching groups of elementary-age students is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage and work closely with a wide range of staff members
- Ability to learn laws, rules, practices and procedures related to public education and specific to Rocketship Public Schools
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn
