What You'll Do

As the Rapid Rehousing Case Manager, you will provide progressive housing stability case management and short-term assistance for families and individuals in Rapid Rehousing (RRH) Program. This position is goal-centered to develop and implement a service plan that addresses the participants’ needs, obstacles, and objectives for ultimately achieving permanent unsubsidized housing.
 
This position has a social justice component that will require critical thinking around how external systems impact the work that we are doing through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty. Knowing the core principals of antiracism and grounding those principles in everyday work, as well as working well in non-white environments and championing anti-racism policy, are required job skills and core values. Responsibilities

  • Utilizes principles of Motivational InterviewingHousing First and Harm Reduction to assist participants with the development of a Housing Stability Action Plan, which addresses identified barriers to housing stability.
  • Provides clients with trauma informed support case management and advocacy. Make referrals and linkages to community resources for housing, employment and other basic needs.
  • Meets with client at least once monthly (in home, once participant is housed). Tracks progress towards identified Housing Stability Action Plan goals using Housing Stability Check-in Form and Monthly Budgeting Form. Maintains accurate and complete case files documenting services provided.
  • Maintain Flex Funding and track spending to ensure funds are not overspent and are administered per grant requirements.
  • Employ an anti-racist framework, in alignment with YWCA Social Justice Initiative to support participants impacted by structural racism, implicit bias, and socio-economic inequity to promote equitable outcomes for program participants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with two years of direct social service experience working with low-income and/or homeless families. Prefer chemical dependency and/or mental health background Or
  • AA Degree with three years of direct social service experience, including one year of experience in working with low-income and/or homeless Or
  • Five years of experience working in the social service field with low-income and/or homeless families with demonstrated knowledge of domestic violence, trauma informed care, mental health issues, and chemical dependency as well as landlord/tenant issues
  • And
  • Commitment to working within an anti-racist framework to ensure racially equitable outcomes and advance the YWCA Mission;
  • Knowledge of affordable public and private housing resources in Snohomish County;
  • Must have a valid Washington State driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
  • Paid and/or volunteer work experience with emergency shelters, transitional housing programs, and/or other residential programs;
  • Knowledge of and experience as a service provider with any of the following: crisis intervention, victims of domestic violence, child abuse, substance abuse, mental health, welfare rights, case management, sexual assault, employment services, child development, and positive parenting skills

Hours, Rate, and Benefits

  • Hourly Rate/Salary $25.00
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Excellent benefits package including medical insurance, retirement plan, plus generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave plans
  • At the time of hire, employees may enroll voluntarily in the Fidelity 403b Plan
  • After two years of employment, employees are eligible to participate in the YWCA Retirement Fund

  • Frequently reaches and grasps in using telephones, computers, fax machines and other office equipment and supplies
