Energy Aspects has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Analyst to join our growing long-term team, based in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable Senior Power Analyst to play a central role in our long-term team, predominantly focusing on power markets, as well as assisting in broader market analysis as required.
This position will be responsible for leading our fundamental analysis of power markets. The candidate will ideally have experience modelling international power markets, focusing on the evolving role of natural gas, renewables, nuclear and coal. Responsibilities will include developing and maintaining the models, using data from multiple sources and of differing quality, that underpin our long-term research service. Tasks will include the design, creation, testing and refining of power supply models that will reflect both existing power stacks, and the evolution of capacity coming from the energy transition. Knowledge of issues around energy transition, including around grid stability and energy storage, will be essential.
You will assist in maintaining a detailed methodology document that explains the approach taken to clients and contribute to periodic reports highlighting key changes to our assumptions. These documents will need to communicate complex information to an audience with varying levels of technical expertise. This will entail both working closely with the head of the long-term service to develop the skills and knowledge to present to clients and answer questions, and building collaborative relationships with members of the wider business to align your long-term analysis with our existing services. There may also be opportunities to present at conferences and interact with the media.
Our analysts are expected to consistently produce work at a high enough standard to send out to our demanding client base. We pride ourselves on the quality of our end-product and are meticulous about ensuring a high degree of accuracy across our services and you will need to share this commitment.
This position will require flexibility and the drive to go beyond the core hours when needed, ensuring we all fulfil our goals. All team members are encouraged to build their professional reputation within the industry and are supported by some of the most well-regarded energy sector commentators. You must be able to work independently, as well as be capable of planning and prioritising to achieve success. In exchange, we offer excellent remuneration, a high-performance culture, with challenging and exciting work.
