As a Founder Support & Growth Associate with Techstars Anywhere, our first remote-first accelerator program, you will engage with the next amazing batch of startups as they grow from early stage to venture-backed companies. You will work closely to support companies throughout our 13-week accelerator programs while working alongside the Techstars Anywhere team.
We are a small team, energized by working with companies that are creating meaningful change in the startup ecosystem. We find profound purpose in the work we do, and we are looking for team members who are culture contributors and are able to jump in and provide support to founders wherever needed with little direction.
This role is an opportunity to broaden your network, and get exposure to some great up-and-coming companies and teams. Some associates even end up being employed by one of the teams or by someone they met during the span of the three months or go on to build their own companies.
This role is a temporary, 100% remote, part-time contract position through December 2024
General Job Description
The Founder Support & Growth Associate is a founder facing role that will work closely to support the next Techstars Anywhere class and founders as they grow and scale their companies. If you are a growth hacker, systems operator, data specialist and someone who is ready to jump in and work closely with founders, this is the role for you.
Ideally, you’re a growth, data and/or operations superstar who loves supporting founders scale their businesses, solve problems, think strategically, and execute (#domorefaster). A willingness to learn, comfort tackling new problems, and ability to get tasks and asks done quickly and efficiently is a must. You’ll need to be flexible, willing and able to pitch in with unforeseen needs founders may have.
Founder support could look like:
- Support founders with needs as they scale their companies and drive them toward success (ex. help create investor pipelines, build airtable databases, conduct company research, take meeting notes, help analyze app or customer discovery data, provide marketing or business development support, and more).
- Develop scalable processes for founders to optimize their work flow and do more faster
- Utilize tools and develop processes to support founders - using tech tools like Asana, Airtable, Notion, Hubspot, Slack, Zapier, and Salesforce to do so.
- Support founders with preparation for Demo Day and investor meetings (i.e. pitch deck review or presentation practice, investor or market data research, etc.)
Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in technology, startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital, etc.
- Comfortable with a variety of responsibilities, proactive, and able to jump in and a “no task is too small or too big” attitude. Ability to complete tasks quickly and effectively.
- Ability to effectively, prioritize, organize and collaborate, especially on multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously.
- Be a problem solver and effective communicator - (i.e. proactively use ChatGPT, Google or internal databases to research answers, respond in minutes or hours vs half days or days, etc.)
- Proven ability to work with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances in rapidly changing environments.
- Proficiency working with “no code” and automation tools like Airtable, Notion, Zapier, Hubspot and other project management tools is a plus
- Strong emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and high level of empathy.
- Experience and familiarity working with venture backed early stage companies preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and experience.
- Authorized to work as a contractor in the United States.

- Time Management - Move seamlessly between any number of prioritized tasks and functions while effectively managing time.
- Forward Thinking - Anticipate the implications and after effects of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible outcomes.
Location and Timing
- This is a temporary remote part time role between 25-35 hours per week (Contract Position)
- Mid-September through early December 2024
- US required, 100% remote.
Compensation: $2,500-$2,800 Monthly stipend
