sa.global is looking for a talented Financial Controller to join our growing business! This position is based in Serbia and offers a hybrid work environment.

As a Financial Controller, you're responsible for financial planning and analysis activities for a holding company as well as supporting global financial controlling and FP&A functions. You're responsible for producing accurate, complete, timely, and compliant reporting of the entity controlled as well as working on group finance controlling and FP&A activities in a transforming organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Control Activities for a Holding Company:
    • Responsible for month end closing and preparation of financial statements
    • Preparing P&L budget and analyzing variances
    • Budgeting, calculation and allocation, and controlling of group central costs
    • Preparation of monthly cash flow projections
    • Liaising with the auditor, preparation of the documentation and ensuring accurate and timely audit report
    • Communication with accounting, tax and other external consultants
  • Support the Global Financial Controlling Function:
    • Ensure the country controllers produce accurate, complete, and timely management reporting packs
    • Analyze and explain budget variances in monthly reporting packs
    • Establish the internal reporting processes and procedures and track the compliance across the group
    • Group accounting - consistent use of accounts across the globe to ensure comparability
    • Review and check country results for unusual and exceptional items
    • Ensure local statutory filings are up to date and that a reconciliation exists to the group numbers
    • Monthly consolidation of the global accounts (with intercompany reconciliations) and reporting of group numbers – the management consolidation
    • Own group chart of accounts and dimensions and control proposed changes
    • Review group accounting policies and compliance
    • Develop and maintain accurate and up to date accounting manuals
    • Ensure finance processes and RACI are accurate and up to date
    • Ensure financial system and processes are as efficient as possible
    • Learn our finance system (D365) to the extent that you’re a valuable business partner to the group and suggesting and implementing with the D365 team improvements in process
    • Produce accurate legal consolidation
    • Provide support during the audit of consolidated financial statements
  • FP&A activities for a Global Finance Team:
    • Assist with the creation of budgeting and forecasting instructions and templates
    • Review budgets and forecasts submitted by various entities
    • Provide constructive feedback and challenging assumptions where necessary
    • Assist with the consolidation of budgets and forecasts for the group
    • Prepare reports for acquisition processes and for investors
  • General activities for a Global Finance Team
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members
    • Other tasks assigned by line manager

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven relevant experience in Finance
  • High proficiency in MS Office
  • Sound technical knowledge and strong analytical skills, with an eye for details
  • Team player with exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and organizational
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment
  • High integrity and openness
  • Independent, proactive, and results oriented
  • Energetic, motivated, with the passion for personal growth and professional success
  • Comfortable working in an international environment
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft D365; PBI experience is preferred
  • Prior Big 4 experience is considered a plus
  • Finance or accounting qualifications (e.g. ACCA, CFA, CIMA) preferred
