Our diverse engineering client founded in 1964 and headquartered in central New Jersey supports their Building Technologies business by providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP&FP) and structural engineering, insurance/forensics investigations, project management and construction management services. Engineering staff includes multi-disciplined professionals licensed in twenty-six states, as well as LEED Accredited Professionals, Certified Energy Auditors and Certified Energy Managers. Construction management staff is comprised of licensed building inspectors, mechanical inspectors, certified building plan examiners, registered roofing observers, and reserve specialists certified by the Community Association Institute. Their team of engineers is experienced in all facets of building engineering for every type of building.Description:IMMEDIATE NEED for a Mid-level Mechanical Engineer with three years or more experience in the design of airside and water-side mechanical HVAC systems for all building types. The ideal candidate developed their skills on a range of projects and has a solid understanding of mechanical systems. Responsibilities:- Prepare mechanical and HVAC system layouts, detail drawings, schematics and specifications
- Design HVAC systems for a wide variety of building types
- Prepare engineering deliverables and drawings including presentation materials and calculations
- Check shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications
- Respond to code comments and resolve permit issues
- Perform site surveys to document existing system configuration and conditions
- Develop building energy models for calculation of building heating and cooling loads
- Ensure the installation of the HVAC system meets the plans and specifications of the design and the client expectations
Required:- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in mechanical building design
- PE license desired but not required. Prefer a candidate with a willingness to obtain a PE license at some point
- Experience with AutoCAD MEP on similar projects REQUIRED
- Knowledge of Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, or other HVAC load calculation/modeling software
- LEED accreditation is a Plus
- Knowledge of eQuest or other building energy modeling software is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer proficient – Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid US driver’s license
Education:Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program
