Overview: We are seeking an experienced Director of Data Engineering to lead our data warehouse and integration team, reporting directly to the CIO. This pivotal role involves overseeing the technical aspects of our data integration platform, driving the design and deployment of enterprise-scale solutions, including an enterprise data warehouse, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data connectivity across our organization.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of team-based programming experience
- 5+ years of management experience, including mentoring and team leadership
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with data pipelines, data analytics, data warehouse management and data engineering
- Advanced proficiency in Java, SQL, N1QL, Python, or similar languages
- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Proven track record of building and deploying enterprise-scale solutions
- Extensive experience with Agile methodologies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience accepted
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, and GitHub for automated deployment pipelines.
- Ability to architect and deliver API-led microservices and REST/SOAP web services.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and services, particularly AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead discussions and influence stakeholders.
- Experience in regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, GxP) is a plus.
- Experience with integration platforms such as Workato, MuleSoft, Informatica, Fivetran, or equivalent.
- Experience with data warehouses or data Lakes such as Databricks, Snowflake or equivalent. Couchbase DB experience a strong plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; substantial equivalent experience in analytical research-oriented work may be considered.
- Experience with consumption or usage based pricing models a strong plus.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive the vision for data engineering initiatives, setting the team up for success with best practice architecture enabling the team to successfully deliver on objectives.
- Form strong cross functional relationships with cross-functional teams including product developers and business stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Leverage expertise to challenge the current business process, assumptions, systems design to drive the team towards improved scalable solutions.
- Actively supports the team by removing barriers or raising issues as appropriate to move work forward. Empowers the team to innovate and deliver high-quality software solutions using agile techniques.
- Lead the establishment of standards and best practices across various engineering processes from requirements to maintenance.

The anticipated starting base pay range for this role is listed below. Base salary is not the only component of our competitive total rewards package - you may also be eligible for bonus, commissions, equity, and other benefits as described below. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
