EEG Technician - Neurophysiology 33913075
A leading children's medical institution is seeking a EEG Technician - Neurophysiology. The selected candidate will under the direct supervision of the Manager or designee, performs neurodiagnostic EEG procedures.
EEG Technician - Neurophysiology Pay and Benefits:
- Hourly pay: $45/hr
- Worksite: Leading children's medical institution (Dallas, TX 75207 - Onsite)
- W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
- 40 hours/week, 3 Month Assignment
EEG Technician - Neurophysiology Responsibilities:
- Perform EEG record according to the standards of the laboratory (routine, sleep and bedside recordings).
- Measure and accurately apply electrodes in a timely manner, according to the International 10-20 System; ensure that electrode impedances meet laboratory standards.
- Write a patient history gathering appropriate information from patient, patient's record and family members to include seizure types, date of last seizure, other neurological symptomatology and medications; explain test procedure to patient and family members present.
- Implement alternative methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recording. This may include appropriate control setting changes on the machine, use of extra electrodes, extra montages and use of activation procedures.
- Recognize artifact (patient or environmental); document, eliminate or take proper measures to monitor the artifact.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and repair them or report to supervisor promptly.
- Participate in conferences and technical meetings.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Through experience, has developed technical knowledge and skills to perform a variety of routine activities.
- Understand how own duties relate to others in the team and has an awareness of how the team integrates with others.
- Manage own workload by applying an understanding of team priorities; may provide assistance to less experienced colleagues.

EEG Technician - Neurophysiology Qualifications:
- 1+ year of job related experience - experience working in EEG or Epilepsy Monitoring Unit setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training beyond high school - Graduate of an Accredited Electroneuro diagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or equivalent formal training (college level course work will be considered in science area will be considered).
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support
