Position Overview

  • Apply experience programming, testing, troubleshooting, and deploying automated solutions to increase throughput and decrease hands-on time across the organization.
  • Independently develop and deploy automation methods on Beckman i7 / i5 instruments.
  • Collaborate with science team members to gather requirements, run tests and generate pilot datasets to validate new automation methods / equipment.
  • Responsible for regular maintenance of Nvelop’s automation equipment including quarterly calibrations and day to day troubleshooting / maintenance / user training.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemistry, biology, engineering disciplines, or a related field with 5+ years of academic / biotech industry experience
  • Significant hands-on development experience with Beckman, Hamilton, or comparable automated liquid handling platforms is required (3+ years ideally)
  • Scripting / programming abilities in common languages such as Python, C++, C#, JavaScript etc. are strongly preferred
  • Experience working with Benchling ELN is strongly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
  • Desire to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
  • Experience with NGS technologies and library prep is a major plus
Additional Requirements:
Full time in-person work is necessary for our laboratory-based positions. We work in facilities that require that all individuals working on-site are vaccinated for COVID-19. Position title and salary will be commensurate with experience.
