Senior Backend Engineer (m,f,x), Logistics

There are a couple of domains inside HelloTech, a global tech team powering HelloFresh business. One of them is Fulfillment, where we build tech solutions to support business in all markets with box production and delivery to the customer. One of the teams inside Fulfillment, Shipping & Tracking, focuses on two aspects of this journey: communication of the boxes to the carriers and providing visibility of the box status to other tech teams and customers.

The role

As a Senior Engineer in the Shipping & Tracking team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing technical solutions for business problems, being a feature lead. You will work with our neighboring teams to ensure that our efforts are aimed at achieving a clearer architecture and boundaries between tech teams to support autonomy. You will communicate directly with our business stakeholders and multiple tech teams supporting local markets.

What you’ll do

• Take ownership of the architecture, design, development, deployment and operations of the services you will develop, using DevOps practices, pair programming and other cutting edge methodologies 
• Be active, solution-oriented member of autonomous, cross-functional agile teams collaborating with Product Owners, Front-end Engineers, Designers, and Business Intelligence teams 
• Having an in-depth understanding of HelloFresh’s core product and architecture, and act as ambassador for software solutions offering support and mentorship to colleagues
• Solve software problems that have visible risks, roadblocks, and constraints. Examples might include legacy dependencies, data quality, compliance, and architecture or technology limitations.

What you’ll bring

• Experience working with Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Solid problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of a couple of programming languages. Experience with or willingness to learn Golang.
• Expertise in designing and implementing distributed systems, including proficiency in synchronous/asynchronous communication.
• Experienced in end-to-end development processes, including unit, integration & functional testing, distributed architecture, application tuning/profiling, and continuous integration
