HTH seeks an Aftercare Middle School Athletics Leader to lead middle school-aged students in a variety of after-school activities at our Clairemont Mesa campus.
JOB SUMMARY
The after-school program is an important element of the school day experience. Our Aftercare Assistants play unique roles as mentors, tutors, activity leaders, and sports coaches. In addition to providing a safe and quiet place for students to study or receive extra tutoring, our program also offers enrichment opportunities. This unique role as the sports lead will include coaching, scheduling and managing different sports throughout the school year. The sports lead will work closely with the Athletic Director to plan practices, set up for games and provide school van transportation to away games. Knowledge in a variety of sports would be desirable. Specifically in basketball, flag football, soccer and volleyball. This position ranges from 20-25 hours per week.
Duties include:
● Supervise middle school-aged children indoors and outdoors
● Supervise and coach middle school sports, sports vary by season
● Maintain an orderly, safe, and organized environment for the students
● Take attendance to ensure that all students are accounted for
● Plan, develop and run engaging student activities
● Understand and implement emergency procedures, including safety protocols
● Perform related duties as assigned
The ideal candidate would possess the following competencies:
● Ability to work well with middle school-aged students
● Inform and communicate effectively
● Ability to work with diverse populations
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
● High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
● Experience working with children
● Experience with coaching multiple sports
