We are currently hiring a Senior Director of Clinical Practice to join our team. This position will offer you a competitive wage, paid orientation and on-going professional development opportunities. 

It is a requirement for this position to be registered as a Nurse Practitioner or in the process of being registered in the CNO's extended class.

Position Summary:

The Senior Director of Clinical Practice is a key leadership role within Thrive Group, responsible for overseeing and ensuring clinical excellence across all Thrive organizations, including Idlewyld Manor (IWM), St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke (SPR), AbleLiving Services, and Capability Support Services. This role provides leadership and direction for both Medical Doctors (MDs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) across these organizations, ensuring clinical programs, policies, education, and innovation are aligned and consistently delivered at the highest standards. Additionally, the Senior Director is responsible for the development and growth of a robust NP community of practice, contributing to research, innovation, and the Thrive Group Centre of Excellence in Healthcare Innovation (TG-COE). This role is hybrid, requiring the NP to provide direct care to residents at Idlewyld Manor while performing strategic and leadership duties.

Employment Guide:

  • Current Nurse Practitioner Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class - member in good standing required 
  • Previous experience working with seniors and/or people with disabilities within a 24/7 environment preferred. 
  • Must be familiar and have a working knowledge of electronic documentation health records software.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications, Point Click Care, and RAI-MDS is advantageous. 
  • Prior knowledge of the Ontario Health Care system; Retirement Homes Act and Regulations; Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA); and Excellent Care for All Act desirable.  Must have the ability to act as a role model and influence others; foster effective team work; and lead by example. Evidence of critical thinking and superior organizational skills must be evident. 
  • Must have advanced skills in building and maintaining working relationships with all members of the health care teams and community partners with the ability to work in a collaborative practice model. 
  • Must have solid analytical; verbal and written communication and report writing skills. 
  • Must be able to give and take direction and build strong relationships with residents, employees, family members and the general public.  
  • Superior problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment required. 
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field, with current Nurse Practitioner registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Extended Class).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a senior clinical leadership role, with experience overseeing MDs and NPs in a multi-disciplinary and multi-site healthcare organization.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing clinical programs, policies, research initiatives, and education programs.
  • Strong experience in fostering communities of practice, research, innovation, and driving quality improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario healthcare system, long-term care legislation, and community healthcare settings.
  • Superior leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire clinical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare innovation, research, and the integration of clinical advancements into practice.
  • A valid driver’s license is required as well as successful completion of a Police Check, Vulnerable Screening Check and Medical clearance. 

Job Type: Full-Time, 37.5 hours a week
