Job Title: Level 3 CNC Machinist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Level 3 CNC Machinist for our client in Hudson, NY. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CNC machining processes, excellent programming abilities using G&M Code, proficiency in working with Tsugami Machines, and the ability to set up and run jobs efficiently. The Level 3 CNC Machinist will primarily work in a dynamic job shop environment, collaborating with colleagues and ensuring the highest quality standards in the production of precision components.
Direct hire opportunity with the ability to get benefits within 30-45 days of employment. Toolmakers are welcome and needed to apply. Strong leadership and communication skills are needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming Expertise:
Proficient in programming CNC machines using G&M Code to create complex and precision parts.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints to develop efficient machining processes.
Machine Operation:
Extensive experience in operating Tsugami Machines and other CNC machining equipment.
Set up, adjust, and calibrate machines to ensure parts are produced to specifications and meet quality standards.
Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper functioning and make necessary adjustments as required.
Job Setup and Run:
Independently set up and run jobs, including selecting and installing appropriate tooling and fixtures.
Analyze job orders, drawings, and specifications to determine the best machining methods and sequences.
Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Quality Control:
Conduct thorough quality checks on finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
Identify and resolve issues related to dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
Collaborate with quality control team to maintain high-quality standards throughout the production process.
Collaborative Teamwork:
Work closely with colleagues, engineers, and supervisors to achieve production goals and resolve any technical challenges.
Provide guidance and training to junior machinists to enhance overall team skills and capabilities.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to CNC machining.
Continuous Improvement:
Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce production lead times.
Recommend and implement innovative techniques and technologies to optimize CNC machining operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, with expertise in G&M Code programming.
Proven experience working with Tsugami Machines and other CNC equipment.
Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Knowledge of job shop environment dynamics and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in CNC machining are a plus.
