We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and enhance various modules within our group. In this role, you will be responsible for driving innovation and continuous improvement across our product offerings. Your leadership will be crucial in bringing our technology to new markets, ensuring we remain competitive and successful. You will play a key role in our mission to make Toast a global leader in the restaurant technology space.

 

As a Senior Engineering Manager on our team, you will:

• Lead an engineering team to deliver on the capabilities and innovations that will make Toast the complete restaurant solution provider in the current market and in new markets.
• Collaborate across R&D to build support needed to deliver on the capabilities our customers expect, facilitating technical discussions that drive business outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with Product and UX to get actionable, valuable work defined for the team
• Help the QA function for your area of responsibility, balance time to market with customer experience.
• Ensure end-to-end delivery of software, including team ownership of monitoring and production issue remediation
• Coach individuals in professional and technical development to set up for their success
• Hire and mentor a team of high performing individuals, ensuring their success at Toast
• Evangelize the International mission in all R&D sites in India.

Do you have the right ingredients? (Experience)

• 8+ years mentoring successful teams
• 5+ years of managing, coaching and growing successful teams
• Highly proficient knowledge in Java/Kotlin, .NET, React JS
• Professional experience and proficient knowledge of Android/iOS
• Innovative and collaborative mindset, working with others to drive impact
• Experience working in a team with Agile/Scrum methodology
• You have experience working with product teams to invent solutions that deliver good outcomes to our customers and the company
• A bias towards action, with the ability to balance between getting things done and making things perfect
• A strong sense of empathy for customers and teammates
• A desire to build a diverse team that wins together and prioritizes customer success

 

Our Tech Stack
Our product operates on a diverse technology stack encompassing frontend, backend, and data storage components. Our REST API and background services are built using a microservice architecture with .Net 7,Kotlin, and Camel. We maintain a robust, independent CI/CD platform utilizing Jenkins, Terraform, Atlantis, and AWS for managing resources such as EC2, ECS, ELB, Gateway, Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, ElastiCache, SQS, SNS, SES, and more.

The web frontend is developed using MVC, React, and Angular, while our mobile app is built with Kotlin for Android and Swift for iOS. Depending on the use case, data is stored in SQL Server, Aurora Serverless, Elasticsearch, and DynamoDB tables.
