Role Overview
Lead the site production department and ensure its effective and efficient running in full compliance with Hydronic Engineering operations and manufacturing excellence strategy as well as with Lean principles while always ensuring strict adherence to Health and Safety.
As part of the Plant Management Team, act as a change agent to make the site as flexible and agile as possible to adapt to a changing environment.
Focus on increasing the performance and productivity of the site while keeping the customer requirements at the forefront of all activities and ensure employee motivation is maintained at a high level.
· Lead the operations activities so that existing and new products are manufactured on schedule, within quality standards and cost objectives for smooth delivery to customers.
· Ensure appropriate and material and production control in the production.
· Monitor the production processes and the effective use of manpower and equipment.
· Ensure unfailing support to all Health & Safety initiatives and drive the appropriate behaviors to build and maintain a safe and ergonomic workplace.
· HSE Framework Element ownership and drive to high maturity level.
· Drive a preventive HSE culture by ensuring Safer reporting across all departments and drive closure rate of identified Safer’s.
· Ensure full adherence to Lean principles and drive initiatives to spread knowledge of standard IMI Lean tools.
· Drive production towards a continuous improvement in areas as automation, total productive maintenance, operator performance, machine utilization, OEE, scrap deduction and secure work safety.
· Lead, coach, appraise and develop a team of Department Managers supported by Team Leaders and support them in instilling a high-performance culture within the Blue-Collar population.
· Ensure timely and accurate weekly and monthly quarterly reporting as per requirements and closely monitor set KPIs. Ensure correlation to plant strategy and policy deployment.
· Ensure that daily KPI’s are managed, and continuous improvement implemented to drive best practice performance.
· Responsible for preparing forecasts and budgets, for the overall production budget in operating expenditure.
· Foster a culture of can do and ensure that the production department acts and performs in a compliant manner and adheres to corporate procedures and principles.
· Secure that workforce follows the personnel policies and code of conduct.
· Responsible that the equipment, machines and building are covered by a predictive or preventive maintenance strategy and kept/maintained in an optimal running state.
· In close cooperation with the Plant Manager and Human Resources, develop local talent pipeline to ensure succession.
· Ensure that all procedures and routines are followed and keep up to date in the department.
· Engineering degree or equivalent with at least 10 years of production experience in an international fast moving industrial corporation.
· Successful track record in leading and implementing lean tools, techniques, and end to end methodologies.
· Successful track record in implementing and developing production systems in a medium size/large company.
· Full understanding & proven ability to enhance productivity to meet near & long-term goals.
· Previous experience of material flow planning and value stream thinking.
· Ability to effectively operate, influence and communicate at all levels within a complex matrix organization.
· Proven track record of change leadership with an emphasis on delivering results and improved performance.
· Successful relevant management experience with an emphasis on managing performance and developing a talent pipeline.
· Fluent written and spoken German and English.
· Investigating and understanding new technologies, markets, and products, with passion for continuous learning and development.
· Excellent and proven interpersonal and influencing skills.
