Summary of Responsibilities:
The line cook will play a critical role in preparing quality dishes efficiently in a fast-paced full-service restaurant. You must be able to work well under pressure, pay close attention to detail, and have a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Good communication and teamwork skills are also essential for success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities and Objectives:
· Prepare a variety of food items using various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
· Consistently adhere to standardized portion sizes, quality standards, kitchen guidelines, and standard operating procedures
· Set up, stock, and maintain assigned stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality standards are met
· Follow recipes and ensure food items are prepared following proper timing standards
· Follow proper plate presentation and garnishment standards for all dishes
· Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation, reach-in cooler, and walk-in cooler
· Check food temperatures before serving
· Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED is preferred
· One year related experience and/or training is required
· Ability to read and comprehend English
· Current food handler card is required

· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
· Must be able to work in an environment that requires physical activity under time constraints
· Must be able to work with all products and food ingredients used in the kitchen
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment
Scheduling:
· Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside of business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays
· May be required to be on-call and aid during times of high demand
Environment:
· Exposure to an environment typically found in a hotel or restaurant
Physical Requirements:
