BI Engineer (DBT) - Kolkata

Purpose

Energy Aspects has an exciting opportunity for BI engineer to join our Data team. You will take ownership of the full BI pipeline, from ingesting data and building data marts to creating dashboards for our internal stakeholders. You will work with teams across the entire business to understand and support the BI goals of our organization. The role will be based out of our Kolkata office, but you will collaborate with colleagues in London, US and Singapore.

To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in computer science or a related field, or relevant credentials in business intelligence. Python and SQL proficiency is a must, as is experience with DBT, BigQuery and Power BI. You should be skilled in designing and implementing data collection and analysis systems and having a background in computer programming or engineering is a plus.

Duties

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using DBT and BigQuery
• Build and maintain data models to support reporting and analytics
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI
• Write tests to ensure data accuracy, completeness and consistency
• Continuously monitor, troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines
• Work with internal clients to translate specifications and requirements into discrete tasks
• Able to work independently

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a BI engineer or similar role.
• Experience working with large datasets and complex data models
• Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using DBT and BigQuery
• Strong experience building dashboards with at least one BI tool (Power BI preferred)
• Strong communication skills - must be able to articulate why certain choices or trade-offs were made for the data model.

Desirable skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
• Strong experience with DBT and BigQuery
• Experience with data modeling, ETL development and data warehousing
• Proficiency in SQL
• Proficiency in Python (desirable)
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
