Title: Intermediate Project Engineer | Building envelope Facade, roofing inspections
Client: Founded in 1987, our client is an award-winning NYC firm that evaluates building systems and designs, administers programs for repair, upgrade, restoration, and new construction for residential, commercial, retail, and institutional properties. The broad range of expertise includes exterior repair and roof replacement; facade inspection safety; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; structural engineering; retail and commercial buildouts; building condition surveys; energy audits, and historic restoration.
Description: Actively seeking highly motivated technical professionals to assist with project engineering on a variety of exciting facade and roofing inspection projects Local Law 11/98/FISP Inspections.
Responsibilities:
Regarding all Local Law 11/98/FISP Inspections, provide overall technical and administrative management support on new facade/roofing opportunities from clients proposals through final acceptance by clients
Establish project objectives, procedures and performance standards and provide coordination of project design
Examine building exterior envelopes, develop work scopes, and provide budget projections
Prepare construction documents and details to address all deficiencies in accordance with DOB and LPC requirements
Conduct contractor bid solicitations and reviews
Perform construction observation and special inspections and issue site visit reports
Create and maintain project schedules, issue change orders, and actively monitor project budgets
Job Requirements:
4 + years of experience in designing and administering exterior repair/roofing projects
Must be well-versed in all facets of building exterior envelope, weatherproofing, masonry repair, historic preservation, roofing projects, as well as FISP Inspections and reports
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated mastery in estimating, cost control, construction observation, and developing client relationships
Must have New York experience
Education: Bachelors in Civil-Structural Engineering or similar 4-year engineering degree NYS PE License desired but not required
