BlueCat seeks an Engineering Manager as an excellent leader, a strong developer who still enjoys pushing code into production. The position is a player/coach role, with development contributions and leadership duties each occupying about half of the candidates’ time. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast paced and dynamic work environment, who has the personality to rally support from all our different internal stakeholders.
The Technical Manager will contribute to the development and design of BlueCat’s solutions in an agile team environment, collaborate with the Development team as hands on worker as well.
Responsibilities:
· Contribute to the development and design of BlueCat’s solutions in an agile team environment.
· Hands on contribution to the code base. (Yes, you will be programming.)
· Lead, mentor and manage a team of software developers.
· Collaborate with a remote team of software developers around the globe.
· Participate in product discussions, influence the development roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility over projects to make them happen.
· Responsible for quality, reliability and scalability of the teams’ deliverables.
Skills and Experiences Required:
· At least 3 years of experience leading a software development team in an Agile environment in a manager role or as a team-lead.
· More than 5 years of experience working as a frontend or full stack software developer
· Strong experience working with React/Typescript/JavaScript
· Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
· Strong leadership skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
· Significant development experience with large enterprise solutions.
