Internships are open for the bring-up and testing of brand-new hardware at a fast-moving startup.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get your hands dirty on real hardware and silicon at the most exciting time possible – first power-on!
Responsibilities
- You will participate in the following:
- Assembly and bring-up of new platform hardware and silicon
- Cross-functional debug of hardware, silicon, firmware, and software (although it would be nice if everything just worked on the first try)
- Creation and execution of automated and semi-automated tests
Requirements
- We are looking for motivated engineers who are interested in taking their coursework and experience in digital systems, circuitry, firmware, and scripting and applying it to massively complex systems.
- Coursework in FPGA RTL design
- Coursework in operating systems or embedded software engineering
- Coursework in circuit theory and ability to grok schematics and PCB layouts
- Experience with Python
- Excellent skills in problem solving, written and verbal communication, excellent organization skills, and highly self-motivated.
- Ability to work well in a team and be productive under aggressive schedules.
- Desire to learn new skills and attack novel problems.
- Available June through August
Education and Experience
- Working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Experience with the hands-on debugging of a hardware project is a huge plus
