Job Title: LUNCHABLES OPERATOR

Operator Assistant - Shift 1—Monday-Thursday 7a-7p—Pay Rate $13.50

Operator Assistant - Shift 3 Monday-Thursday 7p-7a Pay Rate $14.75

Operator Assistant - Shift 1 Weekends—Friday-Sunday 7a-7p Pay Rate $13.50

Operator Assistant - Shift 3 Weekends---Friday-Sunday 7p-7a Pay Rate $17.25

Location: Garland, Texas

Duration: 6-12 Months Contract with possibility of Conversion

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Other duties including those not specifically related to the Primary Packaging positions may be assigned.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • Includes – Utility Operators, Supply/Relief, Scale Operator, Slicer Operator, Casepacker, Cheese Harp Operator, and Tray Denester
  • Responsible for proper operation of assigned equipment in manufacturing Lunchables according to packaging specifications, finished product specifications, and all safety requirements. This includes getting supplies, loading supplies, operating machines, clearing jams and restarting machine, and monitoring machine performance
  • Will be trained and rotate to primary packaging equipment
  • Operate by the HACCP plans for the product line
  • Maintain a clean work area, adhere to all GMP’s and safety policies such as LO/TO and Personal Protective Equipment
  • This person has the responsibility to operate under the Food and Beverage Heinz Safety Values.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies, procedures and compliance programs.
  • Work toward achieving an injury free environment.
  • Responsible for reviewing work areas for potential losses and loss control opportunities and for reporting hazards, injuries/illnesses, and other losses to Line Leads.
  • Effectively utilize HMI display and make minor adjustments per SKU needs
  • Detect when adjustments are required based on machine observations and performance, responding to machine faults promptly and correctly for maximum machine up time. Effectively communicate electrical and mechanical problems. Detect supply problems and machine problems and properly respond.
  • Assist in product changeovers on the line. This includes mechanical changeovers on each individual piece of equipment.
  • He/she must be self-motivated and be able to work in a team environment. Good communication is essential

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The work environment is cold 38-42 degrees.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

TRAINING

· It is expected that employee will be able to perform essential duties after receiving 80 hours of on-the-job training based on past job experience.

  • Employee will receive training on operation of machines including safety.
  • Employee and trainer will be required to sign-off on training documentation.
