About the role:
The Scientific Director will provide medical strategy and scientific expertise on key accounts, help to guide content development, and support client relationships by acting as a trusted authority on their brands.
What you'll do
- Provide medical strategy on a set of accounts, leading efforts to shape strategy and planning on assigned and challenging internal and Client thinking as appropriate
- Serve as trusted internal resource for agency teams
- Educate creative, strategy, editorial, and account teams on scientific aspects of assigned accounts, demonstrating strong understanding of the relevant therapeutic area and market environment
- Review promotional materials to add value and assure scientific accuracy and strategic alignment, and to ensure quality output that helps to build the scientific foundation for Client brands
- Guide and review creative content to ensure appropriate imagery and promotional language that is consistent with regulatory guidelines associated with product indication
- Draft outlines or clinical descriptions that guide copywriter efforts within a scientifically rigorous framework that is strategically sound and consistent with Client expectations
- Serve as the team scientific representative during Client medical-legal-regulatory review of promotional materials
- Assist in new business development by conducting background research, educating the internal team, helping to formulate the strategic approach to the proposal, and participating in the pitch presentation as required
- Represent the Agency as needed, remotely or in person, with Clients, KOLs, vendors, and healthcare providers
- Participate in internal brand planning processes
- Participate in strategic and brand workshops for Clients
- Plan and lead internal educational presentations on clinical and regulatory topics
About you
- 2-3+ years of relevant experience in a promotional agency setting
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate scientific and clinical data
- Expertise in conducting literature searches with ability to summarize findings for a variety of audiences
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and guidelines
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities
- Advanced degree – PharmD or PhD
