Position Summary
As a Search Engine Optimization Engineer, you will work across systems and software engineering to help build and improve our search-ability on a maximum contract of 12 months. The SEO Engineer will work to ensure SEO is integrated throughout Nomad's product, so Nomad is easily accessed by our end users. They work closely with the engineering, product, and marketing teams to continue to improve our platform.

Responsibilities/What You Will Do
- Help implement changes ranging from accessibility and UX improvements to routing updates within React.js, Next.js, and Flask to improve overall SEO
- Create and update Hygraph pages in order to empower marketing with our SEO efforts
- Help engineers breakdown technical initiatives into actionable steps
- Diagnose and repair performance issues, and build strategies with others to ensure high throughput
- Be part of design and code reviews, providing architectural oversight and promoting tried and true design patterns
- Own decisions around refactoring and strengthening the frontend ecosystem
- Contributing to the growth and success of other members of the team through code review, documentation, and mentoring
Qualifications/ Skills - What You Will Need
- 5+ years of front-end engineering experience
- Extensive experience with React.js
- Extensive experience with CSS and with Material UI
- Experience improving overall SEO performance
- Has led multiple cross functional front-end initiatives
- Strong understanding of the JavaScript language
- Experience with Python and ideally with the Flask framework
- Ability to refactor and/or re-architect front-end applications
- Can guide technical decision making processes and discussions
- Comfortable with sharing knowledge with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of and passion for current trends and best practices in front-end technologies
- Nice to Have: Experience with Iterable
This is a contract role for up to 12 months. Applications will only be considered for individuals outside of the United States that are able to work 9am - 6pm, Monday - Friday, in the US Eastern Time zone.
