Protect Environmental is a national leader in the environmental services industry, focusing on radon and chemical vapor intrusion management. 

The Sales Representative plays a key role in driving sales and business relationships within the assigned Water Treatment market(s). The incumbent will utilize best practice sales strategies to communicate the benefits of the company’s services and products. Working with homeowners, home inspectors, and real estate agents to sell Water Treatment services and products, the Sales Representative will need to adapt their communication style to their audience regularly. The individual works alongside the national marketing efforts to drive sales results in a new and growing industry. Daily, this role will take customer calls, follow up on warm leads, and evaluate work and materials to provide customers with quotes. Additionally, the incumbent will partner with the market leader to review customer queries or concerns and present recommendations to management to ensure QA/QC for customers.

Essential Functions

  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
  • Conducts initial evaluation of project onsite or telephone evaluation; provides customers with estimates for review.
  • Perform cost-­benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
  • Analyze market potential, track sales, and status reports.
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Fields incoming calls for sales and customer product or service issues.
  • Assists in regional events including presentations and sales regarding product and service offerings.
  • Assists with providing supplies and training resources.
  • Assists with deployment and retrieval of measurement devices, diagnostics, and problem solving.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of NJ PWTA requirements is required.
  • Ability to interrupt water test results.
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative is preferred.
  • Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate efficiently with multiple moving parts and various levels of management and team members.
  • Excellent selling, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience’s needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience working in the construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or building maintenance industry is preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This job operates primarily in an office environment.
  • May routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, or in a vehicle.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
