Role - Sr. Project Manager/GDPR
Rate - $79.17/hour (w2)
Duration - 5 Months (possibility of extension)
Location - Lower Manhattan (NYC) /travel to London required
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation by which the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission intend to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union (EU). It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU. The GDPR aims primarily to give control back to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. It becomes enforceable from 25 May 2018.
Specific Description:
• Be the lead under the Primary resource for GDPR implementation and accountability.
• Work closely with the Privacy Director in London to ensure compliance with the upcoming rule, and that all deliverables are set to be met on time.
• Highlight for management any issues or concerns that require escalation and attention in order to be compliant with the rule.
• Actively participate in the GDPR Steering Committee calls.
• Help provide management of the Client project management resources and London-based PWC resources on GDPR.
• Help in drafting reports to the Board on GDPR and other related documents indicating status and issues or concerns for management.
General Description:
Plans, directs and coordinates activities for projects to ensure that goals and objectives of those projects are accomplished within prescribed timeframes and budget. May interact with client, customers, and suppliers to meet the objectives of the project. Must be able to develop a project plan with milestones and resource allocation. Must have good PC skills, with knowledge of project planning software, as well as word processing and spreadsheet programs and have working knowledge of the project discipline (e.g., real estate, purchasing, operations). Must have good organizational skills, be analytical, and be able to interact with all levels of management. Needs excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
• 10 plus years related experience.
• Significant knowledge of Privacy, specifically GDPR.
• BA/BS or equivalent. Advanced degree and/or professional certification preferred.
• Candidates must have proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views. Strong presentation and relationship management skills are essential. This individual must be an articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with an energetic, charismatic and approachable style. Candidates must have effective persuasion skills, the ability to work effectively at the highest levels of the organization, and will display highly effective networking and influencing skills. This person will be comfortable acting as an agent for positive change with agility and flexibility.
• This individual will have proven experience in leading transformational change and in influencing geographically dispersed teams of world-class professionals. Their experience will have been in highly respected diversified institutions with complex and diverse products and customers. He/she will have shown solid career progression within these well respected institutions and proven experience in a role with enterprise-wide scope.
• This person will have executive presence and a reputation for building strong relationships with stakeholders and leading teams, both direct reports and in peer/influence models. Effectiveness in working within a large scale and complex matrix organization is essential.
