This role
The Finance Director will play a pivotal role in the financial leadership of PayJoy. This executive will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring the company's financial health, and driving strategic financial planning.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the financial sector, with a strong background in accounting, capital markets, and financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership:
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the Country Manager and the executive team to meet financial targets and improve margins and return on invested capital.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability objectives.
- Be accountable for the country’s financial performance and cash management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, with dotted line management of accounting, internal controls, accounts payable, and tax..
- Accounting & Compliance:
- Work closely with PayJoy Mexico’s accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant regulations.
- Help to oversee internal controls and audit processes to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
- Help to manage relationships with external auditors, investors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Capital Markets:
- Develop and maintain relationships with investors, analysts, and financial institutions.
- Monitor the company's capital structure and optimize capital allocation.
- Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Lead the financial planning and analysis function to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the development of financial models, forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to drive business performance.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to finance team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within the fintech or financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, capital markets, and financial planning.
- Proven track record of strategic financial management and capital raising.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Experience in a multinational environment is highly desirable.
