Responsible for planning, developing, and directing an efficient and high morale inside sales department to achieve results desired by the company. Actively participate with management to develop, analyze, and evaluate the operational direction of the branch in order to increase profitability, sales, and operational efficiency. Interdepartmental communication skills required for working with both internal and external customers.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for recruiting, training, and evaluating all Inside Sales personnel as well as develop comprehensive succession plan for department.
- Lead and manage the customer service team, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer experiences.
- Directly involved with the Inside Sales effort, and the input into customer pricing matrix to maximize the Gross Margin and/or increased sales.
- Daily involvement with customer service team to insure on time delivery to meet company goals.
- Work with management and purchasing to maintain correct inventory levels to meet key customer requirements and to assist in preventing dead inventory.
- Sell industrial hose and gasket products, maintain customer accounts, take orders on the phone and over the internet as well as enter orders and product quotes into the computer system.
- Emphasize salable features, quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales orders for orders obtained.
- Estimate delivery dates based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules and inventory.
- Prepare reports of business transactions in company database.
- Work with account managers to keep account activities up to date.
- Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
- Perform other work related duties as assigned by your supervisor and be flexible and adaptable to changes that will occur during the course of employment.
Requirements:
- 5 plus years related experience and/or training within customer service.
- High school or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience of managing and supervising in a related industry.
- Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience leading and developing individuals and teams.
- Working knowledge of bottom-line business management with the proven ability to make sound business decisions, discuss and resolve problems.
- Working knowledge of computers and business related software.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak English. Verbal Spanish skills are beneficial.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- This position works in an office/ warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
