At Chewy, we strive to become the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents and our partners – vets and service providers – alike. Our success is measured by the happiness of the people and pets we serve, not simply by the amount of pet supplies we deliver. That’s why we continue to think of outside-the-Chewy-box ways to delight, surprise, and thank our loyal pet lovers.

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is hiring a Director of App Marketing to build and lead the strategy and execution to drive Chewy customers into the Chewy mobile app. This is a senior leadership role with C-suite transparency and requires ownership of multiple org-wide goals critical to Chewy’s growth. The ideal candidate is relentless, data-driven, innovative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight. We are looking for someone who is equally passionate about app engagement, mobile marketing technology, measurement, ad platform functionality, audience segmentation, and creative strategy to scale out a new marketing function in close collaboration with partners.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and own Chewy’s app marketing and engagement strategy and execution to incent pet parents to use the Chewy mobile app
  • Run a paid marketing budget to drive app installs within the guardrails of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Regularly partner, present and report to senior leadership and collaborators on app marketing strategies, plans, and findings, including progress to App install and MAU goals.
  • Seamlessly partner with Marketing Analytics and Core Product teams to troubleshoot technical bugs or develop performance monitoring, reporting, or tracking needs
  • Be responsible for the development of successful paid digital strategies focusing on cohort analysis, audience segmentation, and campaign objectives that will drive target outputs in alignment with merchandising strategy.
  • Partner closely with Sponsored Ads, Integrated Marketing, Merchandising, and Ad Platform collaborators to drive the channel strategy and deliver best in class execution across setup, optimization, and creative iteration.
  • Fluently convey the values of campaigns with objectives at different funnel stages, articulate 3P reporting trends, and build 1P understanding of media incrementally on our objectives.
  • Build and lead mechanisms that convey progress on goals and roadmap inputs and represent performance of channel investment and performance vs. financial plan.
  • Maintain a sharp focus on the industry, ad platform developments, and translate that POV into strategic recommendations that demonstrate active budget management in the channel.
  • Craft and execute structured A/B tests passionate about campaign management, incrementally, and creative.

What You’ll Need:

  • 10+ years of app / customer engagement marketing experience, 2+ years people management
  • Experience leading large-scale paid marketing campaigns, preferably passionate about driving app installs and app engagement
  • Technical skills to understand app performance tracking and measurement solutions
  • Ability to lead the strategy while inspecting the tactical execution on new campaigns, run up on performance reads, strategic evolution and development of POVs and insights that help the business scale
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize resources while working in a multifaceted, fast-paced, and growing organization while leading improvement of nascent cross-functional processes
  • Strong understanding of the data privacy landscape including platform updates and upcoming changes
  • Sophisticated Excel skills and basic SQL skills
