Job Responsibilities:
- Stock and sell parts and accessories to the retail customer.
- Maintain the retail parts store and provide customer service to all incoming customers to the retail parts store.
- Achieve the department's monthly goal in retail parts and accessory sales and related profits.
- Handle incoming parts-related phone calls.
- Arrange stock so that it is readily accessible, easily inventoried on a perpetual basis and displayed well.
- Plan, prepare and maintain retail parts store displays.
- Sell parts over the counter to retail customers and dispense parts to shop personnel when the tech part specialist is not available.
- Solicit customers for parts sales using phone, direct mail, etc.
- Display seasonal parts in an attractive manner.
- Maintain backorder file for all customer special orders.
- Maintain master parts and price books and update them as necessary.
- Maintain appropriate levels of inventory for all items in the parts and accessory store, ordering product on a daily basis as necessary.
- Maintain, in the IDS computer system, maximum and minimum stock levels for all stocked parts and accessories, store locations for all stocked parts and accessories in order to provide for easier locating items.
- Make sure that all parts sales are accounted for immediately, either as a parts sale or billed to a repair order.
- Assist the shipping and receiving department in the receiving, counting and stocking of all incoming merchandise and shop supplies as necessary.
- Assist in the performing of daily cycle counts as necessary.
- Assist members of the sales department in obtaining special order and aftermarket parts and accessories pricing and order these parts and schedule their installation, as authorized by the sales department.
- Fill propane tanks for retail customers as required.
- Seek out and investigate new prospective products for the parts and accessory store.
- Maintain a level of product knowledge necessary to market retail store products to prospective customers.
- Learn and understand the duties of fellow parts personnel in order to provide backup as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and professional parts desk, parts counter and parts department.
Requirements:
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience,
- Ability to produce parts and accessories sales that meet established sales and gross margin objectives and satisfy both internal and external needs,
- Effectively assist customers in making the best parts and accessories buying decisions while maintaining high customer satisfaction and loyalty,
- Professionally participate in the maintenance and selection of parts and accessories in order to maintain an accurate, profitable and desirable inventory that meets customer needs.
