Staff Accountant
Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a dynamic team in the Johns Creek area. This role involves performing full-cycle accounting duties and supporting the accounting department in various financial functions.
Job Function:
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage full-cycle accounting for a set of P&L locations. Key activities include journal entry postings, data analysis, reporting, and involvement in special projects.
Major Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management: Monitor and manage specific general ledger accounts, ensuring a thorough understanding of business transactions that impact these accounts.
- Operational Support: Assist the operating team in understanding their financials and contribute to solutions that reduce costs and streamline processes.
- Account Reconciliation: Prepare reconciliations for various general ledger accounts.
- Journal Entries: Post monthly journal entries with detailed supporting documentation.
- Data Analysis: Conduct detailed data analysis to support financial reporting and decision-making.
- Reporting: Prepare, enhance, and generate weekly and monthly reports for management.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with non-financial departments (e.g., merchandising, supply chain, and operations) to support process improvement initiatives.
- Cross-Training: Provide backup support for other Staff Accountants as needed.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with 3-5 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment, preferably within multi-unit accounting.
- Skills:
- Strong self-motivation, urgency, and pride in work quality.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across various business functions and departments.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including the ability to extract and analyze data from multiple systems.
- Experience with data analysis tools is highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $72,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
