KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general ledger (GL) accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and allocations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Execute month-end and quarter-end close processes, preparing and reviewing GL entries, reconciliations, and other supporting schedules for accounts, such as cash, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, and intercompany accounts.
- Maintain and review fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and identifying any discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Work closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions.
- Respond to internal inquiries regarding GL accounts and financial reports.
- Assist in process improvements and systems enhancements to streamline accounting operations.
- Support interim and year-end audits, providing auditors with requested documents and schedules and addressing any inquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 3+ years of GL accounting experience, with a strong understanding of month-end and quarter-end closing processes.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Strong Excel skills, including experience with formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- High attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
DESIRED SKILLS- Experience with fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and multi-entity consolidations.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and systems integration.
