What does this role entail?

As Fenergo’s IT team is growing, we are looking for a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to join our data team and help us build and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying data solutions that meet the business requirements and adhere to the data quality standards. You will also collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to provide data-driven insights and support data-driven decision making in Fenergo.

Your Responsibilities

  • Platform architecture design and development.
  • Data integration, modelling and processing.
  • Platform and data security, privacy, governance best practice design and development.
  • Platform performance, scalability, efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Ensure data quality, integration, regression and performance testing, and availability across the data lifecycle.
  • UAT testing support
  • Document data processes, flows, and architectures.
  • Mentor and coach junior data engineers and other data team members.

Requirements

Key Expectations

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field or at least 5 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role. 
  • Cloud platform architecture, design and implementation, i.e. AWS​ 
  • Database ETL​
  • Database administration​ 
  • DBT​ 
  • Proficiency in Scripting languages e.g. Python, SQL, and other programming languages for data processing and analysis.​
  •  Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Hive, etc. 
  • Experience with data streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, etc. 
  • Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Luigi, etc. 
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, etc. 
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS Glue, AWS Lamdba, Apache Hudi, Redshift 
  • Experience with data warehousing, data modelling, and data quality tools and techniques. 
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Passionate about data and eager to learn new skills and technologies.
