And it is how we’ll continue to build a safer, smarter and more connected mobility experience for all people.</p><p><strong>The Software Manager for Europe </strong>is responsible for ensuring that the TISH Product Area (Thermal - Interior Sensors – Hardware) is conducting all software engineering activities per the respective projects’ strategy. These key objectives include assignment of the resource, monitor the project execution and define the software strategy at European level. The Software Manager will provide reports and applicable KPI’s for Executive Reviews and Magna Corporate reports. This is a management position; the European Software Manager will have multiple direct reports</p><p><strong>What you can expect:</strong></p><ul><li>Leadership of software development application team at European level (multiple location)</li><li>Responsible for overseeing the design of major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate software Integration.</li><li>Provides guidance to the executive leadership team based on organizational goals and company policy</li><li>European work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization’s objectives and schedules</li><li>Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect reporting organizational units and possibly others outside of his/her reporting structure. May directly participate in establishing and administering many cross-organizational projects and processes.</li><li>Exerts influence in development of overall objectives and long-range goals for the larger organization</li><li>Support/Growth for Integration of multiple features, suppliers, software packages</li><li>Support/Growth teams that will be responsible for translation of development features to production integration</li><li>Participates in Technical Marketing information for TISH activities, such as customer demonstrations, Technical Design reviews, or OEM Advanced Engineering discussions</li><li>Responsible for support of “software” sales strategy and RFQ support for software only integration</li><li>Lead cross functional meetings between multiple development sites (as required) and monitor team work packages</li><li>Provide a monthly Integration TISH “health” chart</li><li>European Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the teams and organization’s objectives and schedules</li><li>Support removal of obstacles and barriers for resources</li></ul><p><strong>Specific Duties:</strong></p><ul><li>Participates in recruiting and evaluating new engineering team members personnel</li><li>Participates in prioritization, coordination between projects (including resources)</li><li>Involved in technical contacts with other teams within Magna or external companies</li><li>Participates in customer and supplier contacts</li><li>Part of the TISH management team including addressing strategic issues</li><li>Proposes continuous improvement processes for product development methods</li><li>Supports engineering headcount, expense, and Capex forecasts</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned</li><li>Growth in Europe to support product usability evaluations in bench set-ups, simulators, and in-vehicle</li><li>Growth in Europe to support product feature development</li><li>Must lead a cross functional team and integrate inputs from existing development teams</li><li>Collaborate with Magna Research and Pre-development on interior sensing research activities</li><li>Support RFQ and RFI discussions with customers (internal and external) for TISH</li><li>Monitor project quality / ASPICE / project compliance</li><li>Monitor moral of local team / support team building activities<strong></strong></li></ul><p><strong>What you'll bring:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent</li><li>7-10 years of relevant experience in the automotive electronics industry</li><li>Previous experience in leading multiple software teams located in different countries</li><li>Excellent knowledge/experience in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project</li><li>Systematic, thorough, and structured working style</li><li>Strong communication and data management skills</li><li>Comfortable and capable of performing self-dependent work; identifies and resolves gaps and issues with minimal guidance from their manager</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of the English language (spoken & written)</li><li>Good knowledge of the German language is appreciated but not mandatory</li></ul><ul></ul><p><strong>Personality Characteristics:</strong></p><ul><li><strong></strong><strong>Customer focus:</strong> Understand internal and external customer needs and ensure deliverables meet customer expectations</li><li><strong>Leadership:</strong> Strong leadership qualities and ability to lead and grow local team and competencies</li><li><strong>Teamwork: </strong>Engage & inspire others; drive collaboration</li><li><strong>Build trust: </strong>Honest, transparent and reliable</li><li>Robust learning and growth mindset</li><li>Excellent communication skills<strong></strong></li></ul><p><strong><strong>What we offer:</strong></strong><br></p><ul></ul><ul><li>Flexible working hours and remote work</li><li>Health programs, sports and team events</li><li>An extensive training program and exciting internal development opportunities</li><li>Meal allowance</li></ul><p><strong>Awareness.
