We Innovate to shape the future of CRE, so in this role you will:
- Perform other projects and duties as directed by SME / Underwriter / DCU.
- Maintain proficiencies in all the current activities transitioned in UW – should be capable to work and train the team {Processing Group and Flex Analysts – “internal resources”} per the requirement.
- Work on all underwriting tasks on the assigned deals along with coordinating & monitoring/Quality check of loan underwriting tasks performed by internal resources to ensure timely and accurate delivery of work product. Escalate issues and prepare solutions to the Underwriter.
- Complete Lender inspections as required.
- Draft the deal underwriting for the underwriter and the ability to present the deal to the loan committee, with the Sr Underwriter and DCU direction.
- Develop positive relationships amongst underwriting network to execute business and achieve shared goals while demonstrating diplomacy and flexibility.
- Foster the growth and development of less experienced analyst by creating an enthusiastic environment. Mentor and groom the analyst to bring them up the learning curve by providing on the floor support, sharing knowledge, best practices and giving right feedback.
- Identify the areas of improvement of the new / less experienced analyst and customize training based on the individuals to ensure that they meet the learning curve periods.
- Proactively manage day to day workload; ensure timely communication in collaboration with the peers and make sure workload is equally distributed to the entire team. Managing workload of the internal resources, determine capacity and make sure that team is utilized in right way.
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels in UW including Mortgage Banking team and Third-Party Vendors.
- Prepare and maintain Job Aids for new tasks, recommend/identify change to the existing job aids and get them revised based on the latest updates/changes. Create process maps and making timely changes when required.
- Continuous process improvement and best practices suggestions.
- Personal development plan for self-study training as well as programs required by Berkadia.
- Coach and mentor other staff members.
- Should be flexible to support other underwriting work per process requirement.
- Other duties as assigned.
We are passionate about your growth, so to achieve success in this role you should have:
- Prior Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae affordable housing financing experience preferred.
- Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities along with outstanding skill of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage expectations, Can-do, proactive attitude that identifies issues while making suggestions and giving options rather than waiting for answers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
