AI Training for Cooking

Outlier helps the world’s most innovative companies improve their AI models by providing human feedback. In this role, you will become an AI coach, crafting compelling questions on Cooking-related topics and assessing the writing of other contributors doing the same.

Help train AI models to become more accurate, relevant, and safe in Cooking!

About the opportunity:

• Outlier is looking for talented cooks to help train generative artificial intelligence models
• This freelance opportunity is remote and hours are flexible, so you can work whenever is best for you

Duration: Variable depending on project length, flexible hours

Location: Remote anywhere in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand

You may contribute your expertise by…

• Crafting and answering questions related to cooking in order to help train AI models
• Evaluate and rank responses generated by AI

Examples of desirable expertise:

• PhD/Masters degree or 5+ years of experience in the field 
• Ability to write engaging, accurate, and insightful content related to Cooking
• Research and fact-checking abilities
• Demonstrate exceptional writing skills, with a focus on clarity, brevity, and engagement

Nice to Have:

• Professional writing experience as a researcher, journalist, technical writer, editor, or similar roles
• Solid subject matter knowledge in other Cooking subfields
• Interest in AI and machine learning concepts

Payment:

• Currently, pay rates for core project work Tier 2 cooking experts in the U.S. average USD $20 to $40 per hour.
• Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project need, and other factors. For example, higher rates may be offered to PhDs. For non-core work, such as during initial project onboarding or project overtime phases, lower rates may apply. Certain projects offer incentive payments. Please review the payment terms for each project.

 

Additional Note:

This is a freelance position that is paid on a per-hour basis. We don’t offer internships as this is a freelance role. You also must be authorized to work in your country of residence, and we will not be providing sponsorship since this is a 1099 contract opportunity. However, if you are an international student, you may be able to sign up if you are on a visa. You should contact your tax/immigration advisor with specific questions regarding your circumstances. We are unable to provide any documentation supporting employment at this time. Please be advised that compensation rates may differ for non-US locations.
