GYF-GUNNISONTREEMANAGEMENT TRAINING PROGRAM

TreeManagement Training Program is a seven-week program that combines training in the technical aspects oftreecarewith soft skills for successful emerging professionals.

Objectives include:

To bridge the gap betweenTreeCareIndustry and under-served youth

To holistically prepare youth for the industry

To decrease rates of unemployment, crime, and poverty amongst under-served youth

Sometreecareskills addressed include workplace safety, chain saw operation, chipper operation,treepruning,treecareand invasive species removal. GYF will recruit and screen nine (9) program participants. Participants are employed to train and work on green infrastructure andtreecareprojects with our employment partner. Participant skill development and proficiency will be assessed throughout the program. Upon program completion,program participants will be eligible for full time employment with ourtreecareemployer partners.
