SUMMARY:
U.S. Travel Association is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manager, Executive Communications to work closely with executives to craft and refine speeches, presentations and talking points tailored to unique messaging preferences. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional writing and editing skills, adept at gathering relevant data and anecdotes to enhance the credibility and impact of executive communications. With a keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset, the position will ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all materials, staying updated on industry trends and best practices to continually refine and improve crafted materials. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal abilities, along with the agility to work within tight deadlines and adapt quickly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Craft and meticulously edit speeches, presentations and talking points tailored to the specific needs and preferences of executives.
- Seek to fulfill the vision, tone and messaging requirements and desires for executives.
- Collaborate with the CEO’s office to complete background and prep calls for speaking engagements.
- Gather relevant data, anecdotes and examples to enhance the credibility and impact of executive speeches and presentations.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all executive communication materials.
- Assist with the development of association and industry resources pertaining to association’s advocacy efforts, research findings and membership collateral, including but not limited to newsletters, fact sheets, reports, guides and other materials.
- Provide support in the form of talking points, run of show drafting and management, and technical support for U.S. Travel webinars and virtual meetings.
- Manage officewide copywriting style guides for U.S. Travel Association and U.S. Travel signature events.
- Liaise across departments, including but not limited to broader public affairs team, meetings and events, membership and marketing to ensure cross-office collaboration and consistency with all communications materials.

- Demonstrated discretion and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate communications-related degree required with experience in a policy, public affairs, association, think tank or journalism setting.
- Knowledge, experience or understanding of the travel and trade association industry is preferred.
- Flawless proofreading skills and a command of AP style.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and PowerPoint.
- Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of the U.S. political process preferred.
- A background in the travel industry or travel-related issues a plus.
OTHER:
- Position based in Washington, DC. U.S. Travel staff work in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
