Summary of Position
Are you a talented Senior DevOps Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to work for a cutting-edge technology company? Look no further! We're looking for an experienced Devops engineer to join our devops team in Chennai. The Cloud Senior DevOps IT engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the devops operations / SRE role, working closely with our team to drive innovation and growth. The ideal candidate should have at least 5+ years of experience in DevOps administration.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Senior IT DevOps engineer takes that opportunity to make infrastructure simpler and more reliable.
- As a senior DevOps engineer should have adequate knowledge in Python and Shell scripting.
- You will be supporting the development team and managing a wide variety of systems and applications deployed on premise and cloud platforms.
- Assist team with monitoring, log analysis, performance metrics and backend process of applications.
- Analyze client operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to uncover opportunities for improvements.
- Evaluate existing platforms, applications and provide recommendations for improving performance by conducting gap analysis, Identify feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications.
- Build automated provisioning and deployments using configuration management technology and deploy new modules/upgrades and fixes to the Dev/SIT/UAT and Production environment.
- Responsible for automation of repetitive manual tasks and procedures across applications.
- Responsible for infrastructure, application, data, and network security.
- Works closely with architects and development teams to assure all systems are in line with USPTO's long-term strategy.
- Participate in on-call rotations and work effectively and collaboratively during outages.
- Coordinates and manages change requests for various infrastructure and application related scheduled and/or ad-hoc events.
- Provide operational support for application and infrastructure routine maintenance and password change policy.
- Responsible for generating infrastructure and system availability and/or ad-hoc reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Responsible for maintaining existing operational standard procedural documents, runbooks and creating technical design specifications as needed.
- Assist in defining DevOps, quality guidelines and ensure compliance for all standards, policies and procedures.
- Assists in automation of load, performance testing and addresses any issues.
- Assists in resiliency, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

Technical Skills:
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS/ GCP).
- Proficiency in any one of the configuration management and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Shell,Python, Bash).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Ability to work on moderate to complex tasks in support of one or more projects that require multiple areas of DevOps expertise.
- Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.
- Configuration of delivery pipeline and test case integration using tools like Jenkins.
- Configuration/change management tools Service now, Jira or Any ticketing tools
- Application performance monitoring and threat management using tools like NewRelic, Sumologic or any other equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with networking concepts like VPC, subnets, internet gateway, NAT and security principles.
- Knowledge in handling distributed data systems(ElasticSearch, Atlas Search or any other equivalent tools).
- Collaboration tools.
- Release orchestration tools.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor and lead junior team members.
