We are seeking a Plant Manager for our Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment Facility. In this role you will oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, staff development and management while maintaining close client communications for the project, and other administrative duties. The Plant Manager will coordinate and communicate with assigned staff, client representatives, contractors, and any assigned engineering firms. He or she will also work closely with all parties to ensure safe and effective system operation and optimization. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing hands-on work and producing all required reports. He or she will coordinate the on-going daily operation of the utility system. The Plant Manager will play an active role in supporting the operations and maintenance of the facility and may, at times, need to cover a shift to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day operations and management of the facilities, including provision of trained staff 24/7.
- Day-to-day operations and management of the remote communications network and assigned SCADA network.
- Collect samples and conduct laboratory tests where/when necessary in support of regulatory compliance.
- Meet with the Client on a regular basis to discuss and review plant operations and maintenance.
- Understanding the industrial facilities operating goals and production schedules to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Manage operating budgets to include annual operating and capital.
- Monitors operations by inspecting and reviewing data, records and reports; coordinates sampling.
- Keeps accurate and up to date records for the project. Prepares and reviews all required reports.
- Respond to all complaints in cooperation with the client relative to the operation of the water/wastewater facilities and initiate appropriate action to resolve the issues.
- Manages the repair, maintenance and construction activities of the project and coordinates activities with the client.
- Ensures all employees receive proper training in materials, equipment, tools and safety procedures.
- Manages client expectations, on-site personnel, vendors and subcontractors.
What will you need to succeed?
- High School Degree or Equivalent. BS in Environmental Studies or equivalent preferred
- Valid Georgia Driver's License required.
- Must possess a valid State of Georgia Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators license (Biological) an Industrial Treatment Operators license is a plus.
- Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as follow safety procedures.
- Proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with: SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Maintenance Management Programs, and other site-specific systems.
- 3 to 7 years’ experience in managing complex water and/or wastewater facilities.
- Experience overseeing a budget and optimizing costs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record with regulators and solid understanding of regulations and reporting requirements.
- Previous management experience is not required but preferred.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
