Role Description 

The Managing Partner for Nike EMEA is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the integrated Initiative team. This team are the close collaborative partners of the Nike EMEA Integrated Marketing Team, along with internal and external partners and stakeholders. The Managing Partner is the overall leader of the fully integrated Initiative team based in Amsterdam and London. This team works with Nike to maximize the brand and business impact of their annual $400MM media investment across 34 countries in the region. 

The Managing Partner serves as the trusted strategic partner and consultant to the most senior stakeholders in the Nike EIM marketing organization, effectively acting as their strategic confide ante. She/he leads Initiative's support for ongoing marketing acceleration and are "Athlete obsessed," consistently directing Initiative's focus and efforts toward advancing Nike's strategic and commercial mission. 

With a superior strategic understanding of Nike’s business and objectives, the Managing Partner is the authoritative figure across the client. She/he is a clear and persuasive communicator, skilled in both verbal and written communications, capable of constructively debating and selling bold ideas to the Nike EIM team members, as well as to internal partners and stakeholders. The Managing Partner possesses strong operational process skills, enabling them to set the Initiative team up for success with operational rigor, driving efficiencies, speed, and scale through agile working methods. The Managing Partner is accountable for defining objectives, deliverables, and timelines, resourcing teams, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver industry-leading and category-defining work on time, to quality, and with ambition. 

The Managing Partner attracts and retains top industry talent for the Initiative Nike team, motivating them to perform their best in a positive, supportive environment that empowers and encourages excellence. 

The Managing Partner will sit on the Initiative Regional Executive Leadership team and have dual reporting lines into both Initiative’s Global Head of Clients as well as Initiative’s EMEA President. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold overall responsibility for excellence in client partnership and for deepening existing client relationships. 
  • Act as a business consultant to the client, beyond media planning and buying. 
  • Challenge clients to innovate, try new things, and test and scale. 
  • Provide strategic leadership across all areas of the Nike business, setting the agenda and direction for the Initiative Nike team. 
  • Deliver thought leadership and build strong industry connections to stay at the forefront of key trends. 
  • Inspire and motivate the team to consistently deliver bold, ground breaking, and standard-setting work. 
  • Ensure the highest levels of quality in the work, focusing on operations, processes, team structure, talent, and creativity. Implement effective processes and procedures for managing workflows and ensure the most business-appropriate staffing and resource allocation. 
  • Ensure consistently positive TRR (client satisfaction) and staff NPS scores across all markets. 
  • Attract and retain top industry talent for the Initiative Nike team. 
  • Create a positive and productive work environment, with a focus on team morale and collaboration. 
  • Champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in media, digital marketing agencies, or equivalent brand-side roles. 
  • A strategic client leader and thinker, capable of creating ambitious and distinctive strategies to stay ahead of the game, with extensive expertise in full-funnel and cross-channel media planning/strategy. 
  • A strong, visionary leader who is positive, motivating, and inspirational in a team environment. 
  • A proven collaborator and adept at building productive client relationships, navigating and influencing across structures and cultures, both internally and externally, while managing significant stakeholders and key industry relationships. 
  • An exceptional presenter who is confident, persuasive, and a collaborative communicator with strong written and presentation skills. 
  • A big thinker who interrogates team workflows and initiates and champions long-term improvement programs. 
  • Able to create clear purpose, drive a high-performance culture, and build capability at all levels, with proven experience in delivering through and with others. 
  • Knowledgeable about when to dive deep and immerse themselves in client business or team workflows to solve problems. 
  • Operationally excellent, engaged in the relentless pursuit of better ways of working. 
  • Capable of handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and quickly learning and applying new concepts and tools. 
  • Focused on attracting and nurturing team talent, valuing team members as individuals, and fostering a positive working environment that retains and attracts talent at all levels.
