Position Summary

We are looking for you - dynamic, best-in-class talent - to join the growing UM Shopper team as an Associate, Commerce. In this role you will assist in both the planning and media buying process for our top clients and help take shopper media to the next level. As an Associate, you will create, innovate, and guide UM Shopper planning and buying processes. This entry-level opportunity will kick-start your career in media and provide a platform to partner with the world’s leading consumer brands.  

UM/OneVue Shopper is a specialty group that focuses on the planning, buying, execution and measurement of Shopper media. Shopper media is any specific media elements that are retailer focused/tagged. This can be in-store signage such as a coupon machine, a billboard driving shoppers to a Walmart store, buying digital ads (onsite, offsite, social) through Walmart and/or even tapping influencers. The team supports both client shopper teams and ecommerce teams—our end goal measuring product sales both online and in-store.  

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of clients’ goals and strategies, while handling ad-hoc client requests  
  • Assist in shopper media discovery work 
  • Assist in inputting and tracking buys and pulling system reports  
  • Manage campaigns by analyzing and monitoring performance 
  • Co-own the billing process with Senior Associates   
  • Compile research data to help the planning teams ensure client is reaching target audience  
  • Learn how to develop audience estimates for programming 

Required Skills & Experience

Education:  

  • Concentration in Advertising, Marketing, Communications or Business Administration preferred  
  • UM does not require candidates to have a college degree

Work Experience:  

  • Previous internship in related field strongly preferred  

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge and passion for media
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills  
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization skills, and multi-tasking capabilities  
  • Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities  
  • Proficiency at Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint  
  • Ability to be flexible and be a team player  
  • Self-starter is a plus

The salary range for this position is posted below.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
