Summary:

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager develops, implements, and monitors company environmental health and safety (EH&S) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, and monitors hazardous waste removal vendors. This position is responsible for ensuring the company follows all agencies (DOT, OSHA, NFPA, and EPA) regulations, training, and any other requirements by such agencies, our insurance companies, and company requirements. The EHS Manager will serve as a subject matter expert on all safety, compliance, regulatory and related insurance requirements.

Essential Functions:

•    Serve on corporate and division safety committees; review and discuss safety needs, provide updates, training, DOT, Hazmat, OSHA and related safety and compliance information.
•    Provide subject matter expertise in Process Safety ensuring industry best practice.
•    Aid all locations to ensure compliance with safety and environmental.
•    Site inspections and corrective action(s):
o    Train and direct management to inspect facilities, work sites and equipment for violations and hazards.
o    Provide directions to management on correcting identified problems in a timely manner.
o    Follow up to make sure all corrective actions were taken and completed.
o    Assist where needed.
•    Responsible for updating, maintaining, and auditing location safety standards and procedures on a quarterly basis.
•    Investigate all accidents to determine the root cause and provide recommendations that eliminate or reduce future hazard or risk.
•    Track and control inventory of safety supplies and equipment and work with division managers to keep adequate safety supplies on-hand.
•    Assist with training for new hires and provide ongoing training for all employees.
•    Evaluate the effectiveness of the safety program using established goals and make recommendations and implement corrective action(s) based on industry standards and best practices.
•    Follow up to make sure the team has corrected any workplace violations.
•    HAZOPs, Safety Auditing, and Incident response.
•    Responsible for Security (non-IT).
•    Perform other duties as needed. 

Requirements:

Education
Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of statistics, data collection and analysis. Knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Experience
At least 5 years safety management experience. 
OSHA General Industry 10- or 30-hour training course; Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene

Technical Skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
