The Credit Risk Professional II is responsible for the implementation of the credit risk management function, providing recommendations to the firm-wide Credit Committee. Monitor and manage the credit exposure within portfolios and individual transactions, continually review counterparty credit-worthiness, and develop credit exposure methodologies in conjunction with risk analytic systems. Day-to-day focus is on resolution of complex problems or transactions, where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes. Role at this level usually has full ownership for one or more processes, reports, procedures or products, and may also be considered analytical or procedural experts representing a unit or team on cross-function process or project deliverables.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for the in-depth knowledge of particular industries and all current events utilizing internal and external sources.
Manage a segment of an industry vertical or primarily investment grade general commercial loan portfolio. Prepare detailed credit analyses and required credit application according to policy, including evaluation of loan purpose and structure, repayment sources, corporate, regulatory and industry risk, liquidity, asset protection, historical and projected operating performance, and capital structure.
Proactive coordination with execution team and Loan Transaction Unit for proper booking of newly assigned accounts.
Continuously identify opportunities to enhance Credit Risk reporting and processes.
Train, guide and motivate junior staff to promote timely production of reports and effective performance. Assist in management and control of credit applications.
Facilitate the approval process for credit actions and loan sales.
Coordinate the self-assessment process to establish the loan loss reserves.
Maintain and monitor compliance reporting requirements.
Qualifications
5-8 years' experience of banking or financial services.
Extensive portfolio management experience and ability to handle refinancing of existing loans.
Sound knowledge of finance, accounting, legal/documentation, and administration.
Excellent communication and networking skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Strong administrative skills, knowledge of loan administration and accounting procedures.
Good knowledge of FED and FSA requirements regarding write-off and reserves on problem loans. Excellent analytic and quantitative skills.
