The Service and Repair Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, disassembly, testing, and assembly of medical electro-mechanical medical devices in a Service Depot environment. All service work performed must be clearly documented in the approved Service Management Software/Complaint Handling System. Must be able to work from documented procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, or sketches as defined in the Client Quality System. An associate degree in electronic engineering technology with 1-2 years related experience, or a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a comparable environment is preferred. Medical Device experience is a plus. The position requires demonstrated ability to interpret and comprehend specifications, procedures, and use of hand tools. Must be able to prepare and maintain appropriate documentation related to the product servicing, the process taken toward resolution, and the results. Must be knowledgeable in troubleshooting electronics and hydraulic circuits, and able to read and understand procedural driven processes. Should possess the ability to work with minimum supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs disassembly, testing, troubleshooting and reassembly of electro-mechanical devices in a Service Depot environment.
Generates and executes upon formal test protocols and reports.
Sets up and operates test equipment and records measurements.
Maintains accurate data and assists with analysis.
Provides process/test method training to manufacturing/QC personnel and other technicians.
Able to understand and document issues related to returned devices returned for service. Follows up with options for repairs to service center.
Investigates, confirms original complaint, repairs and calibrates customer returned equipment.
Documents the activities required to repair returned equipment per corporate standards and local procedures.
Tracks customer owned equipment through the Service/Complaint handling system and reports status to Field Assurance for the respective Client division (e.g. VAD, PI, UCC).
Participates in the development of local documentation for equipment repair.
Supports production with diagnosing potential new failure modes with manufactured equipment.
Identify any negative trends for the devices serviced.
Will assist in the support of Quality and Regulatory to ensure systems are in compliance with all internal and external guidelines.
Maintains working knowledge of Client company policies and procedures, ISO and FDA requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: An Associate's Degree in electronic engineering technology with 1-2 years of related experience, or a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a comparable environment. Medical device experience a plus.
HVAC/Refrigeration background is preferred.
Military background in electronics and/or electro-mechanical is helpful.
Requires demonstrated ability to interpret and comprehend specifications, procedures, and use of hand tools.
Must be able to prepare and maintain appropriate documentation related to the product servicing.
Writing skills sufficient to write technical reports, the process taken toward resolution, and results.
Knowledgeable in troubleshooting electronics and hydraulic circuits.
Able to execute test protocols.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
